R&B singer and current reality television star Monica covers the recently unveiled cover of Rolling Out magazine.

Discussing love, music and her reality series in the issue, Monica reveals just why she chose the words “Still Standing”.

At one point discussing her relationship with rapper Rocko, Monica says “It’s hard to let somebody in. Rocko was the person I had children with. Rocko was the first person I did a lot of things with. I think for me, it just took time to see that he was being supportive, making sure that I’m comfortable in every way,” Monica tells Rolling Out. “I need to acknowledge that and see him as someone that God brought into my life for a reason. Now … I just learn from what took place [in the past] and every day I say ‘I love you.’ When you lose somebody you recognize the little bitty stuff. If he likes chocolate thunder from Outback, it becomes more important to you. So I think I love better because of what happened, because you don’t know when a person may not be there.”

“No I did not hit him. It was a verbal argument” — Rihanna, 20/20 ABC

According to Rihanna the argument that led to Chris Brown assaulting her was simply verbal contrary to reports that say she hit him numerous times.

In video below, Rihanna refutes talk of her kicking things off…

“It’s ignorance, I can say that because even if I hit him first, that makes it okay for him to do that to me? They kind of give an excuse for what he did?”

Nine-time Grammy-winning singer Mary J. Blige gave the nation chills when she sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” at Yankee Stadium Wednesday, when the New York Yankees won their historic 27th World Series title over the Philadelphia Phillies.

In related news, Mary J. Blige appears on the soundtrack for ‘Precious: Based on the novel Push by Sapphire’. Available through online retailers this week, the soundtrack accompanies the anticipated film, which opens in theaters today.

Blige’s ninth album “Stronger” will be in stores this December.

“The foolish part for me was the fact that I wanted to take the shortcut” — EBONY

Tameka Foster Raymond, Usher’s soon-to-be ex wife says her decision to take a shortcut with liposuction just weeks after giving birth was ‘foolish’ — especially since it nearly killed her.

“It was silly because my baby had only (been born) nine weeks or so (before), and I should’ve just waited,” Foster Raymond tells EBONY. “It was too soon after giving birth to be concerned about what I looked like physically.”

“The foolish part for me was the fact that I wanted to take the shortcut,” she goes to tell he magazine in its latest issue.  “This is something I teach my children: Do not take the shortcut. It bothered me that I fell prey to it.”

Joining Alejandro Sanz, Alicia Keys appeared at Thursday’s anticipated Latin Grammy Awards in Las Vegas.

Rocking a green gown on the carpet and performing with Sanz, Keys witnessed Calle 13’s leading win of five awards during the ceremony.

Lady Gaga regained faith in the music industry thanks to Beyonce. Speaking with MtV, Gaga recently said “She (Beyonce) is such a beautiful person, and I gotta tell you, I just adore her.” “And I had kinda lost faith a little bit in meeting artists in the business, then I met Beyoncé. And she is a real, real woman.”

Gaga joins Beyonce in the anticipated music video for “Video Phone” which also appears on Beyonce’s revamped edition of “I Am… Sasha Fierce”.

“There is one person I would like to thank and that’s Jay (Jay Z) for putting a ring on it” — Beyonce.

Beyonce gave her hubby, Jay-Z credit for putting a ring on it when accepting an award for Best Video at the MTV Europe Music Awards Thursday.

In addition to picking up Best Video for “Single Ladies,” Beyonce grabbed Best Song and Best Female.
