Actress Halle Berry has been forced to issue a public apology after a jewish joke turned serious on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. During the taping for Friday’s show, Berry was showing Leno distorted images of herself on a computer, when she said: “Here’s where I look like my Jewish cousin!” as a picture of her with a large nose appeared.
When the joke received no laughs from the audience, Leno quipped, “I’m glad you said that and not me” – Berry requested the footage be scrapped.
However, an audience member tells New York gossip column, PageSix, “Ms. Berry should know how unbelievably inappropriate her comment was. She should be ashamed of herself.”
But Berry insists she did not intend to cause offense.
She says, “I so didn’t mean to offend anybody, and after the show I realized it could be seen as offensive, so I asked Jay to take it out, and he did.
“What happened was I was backstage before the show and I have three girls who are Jewish who work for me. We were going through pictures to see which ones looked silly, and one of my Jewish friends said (of the big-nose picture), ‘That could be your Jewish cousin!’ And I guess it was fresh in my mind, and it just came out of my mouth. But I didn’t mean to offend anybody. I didn’t. I didn’t mean any harm.”
I was raised in Miami Beach (from age 5 to 18) and was subjected to jokes about my small (goyim) nose by my Jewish friends. That was OK then and now, I matured without diminished self-esteem regardless. Little nose or big nose, life is good.
Jewish people never stop mocking Arabs and Muslims, who regardless of the fact the Arabs are semitic cousins, they regard as inferior. They even establish comedy to mock them and stereotype them (Sacha Baron Cohen with his characters). But it is ok when Jews do it to others.
N Dalman, what you don’t realise is that Sacha Baron Cohen mocks every single religion and faith with his characters. His song ‘Throw the Jew down the well’ is completely mocking Judaism, the faith to which he belongs! Sacha Baron Cohen merely makes racial tension look like comedy, and tries to convey to the people that racial tension between any race is downright ridiculous. And you are also wrong in saying that Jews mock Arabs and Muslims. I am Jewish myself and I actually have Arabic and Islamic friends. What people fail to realise is that Jews are only protecting themselves against the Muslims and Arabs, not one attack between the two have Israel been the agressor so get your facts right before you acuse us of ‘making jokes’ about them.
Steve: methinks you’ve been drinking the Kool-aid….otherwise you wouldn’t have made such an absurd comment. While it’s true that media propaganda slanted one way can make people believe something other than the truth, it’s not true that the truth ever changes. Israel has been the aggressor in the M. E. ever since Palestine was invaded in 1946 by “Israelis.” Biblical “right” to the land, or not, Palestine was invaded and hundreds of thousands were pushed off their land at gunpoint.
Israelis should really consider reparations rather than more bloodshed if they want an actual solution instead of endless death and destruction. Just pay the people who owned the land for it, say you’re sorry, and move on. Is that really so hard?

Halle berry was wrong for saying the joke, because it is true that all races are always in constant mockery. But no one should condemme it or make it okay. Because its not.But still I do agree its not that serious of an issue when you think of war in other countries.
However on the discussion on the israel land, no one unless in the biblical situation should comment on it considering we live in america. If I was a jew I’d fight for what was rightfully mine, because in history it states there have been many treaties stating who ons what and nothing has been solved.
