Mimi reportedly pissed some fans off at an autograph signing at Universal City Walk in Los Angeles after showing up two hours late and left before signing albums for devoted CD buyers who had waited eight hours to meet her.
The singer, who was promoting her new album E=MC2, left tired fans fuming when she stopped signing and “went home.”
One angry fan says, “The first 1,000 people who bought her album from (record store) FYE got a guaranteed meet and greet (wristband), but she left with more than a hundred people still waiting.
“Some fans booed and others even trashed their copies of Mariah’s new CD and yelled profanities at her.”

that’s craazy.. its def messed up of her to get there late and leave early but i dont think its worth throwing away her cd.. they prolly gonna regret it once they hear how good it is.. everybody needs 2 remember that no every1 is perfect and we dont know what was reeeally goin on.. for all we know it could have been a fam emergency… E=MC2 is still an amazing album nothing will be able to change that..

i’m not a hardcore fan but i think you should check your sources. if im not wrong, you got this news from an irresponsible blogger named perezhilton. To put things in perspective, the said blogger is out for blood and to get after mariah when the singer put him in his place in an interview in ryan seacrest’s radio show. that news is no news at all. each and every cd signing mariah ever did is impossible to finish till each and everyone is done. there’s just a lot of her fans that it would take days for her to accommodate everyone. mind you, there are a lot of other artists who would not even bother to sign more than a hundred much less 900+ that mariah did for that day. im sorry but this story has been simply blown out of proportion. its the fact that perez wrote it in his blog that people seem to see it as news. im not a hardcore fan but i understand how she was not able to finish all the cd signings. she’s a great person and artist that things like this pale in comparison to the things she does for her fans. you are not really a fan if you don’t get this.
Mariah signed CDs for SIX HOURS!!! How many artists/singers do you know who have signed CDs for that long??!??! NONE. Mariah is the ONLY one who would sign CDs for yes, SIX HOURS!!! And this is the biggest lie I have EVER heard. If you preordered the CD, you got a wristband if you were one of the first 1000. ONLY 1000! Mariah signed EVERY PERSON’S CD with a WRIST BAND for SIX HOURS! Yes, she sat and signed over and over again to EVERY PERSON with a wristband. All these people are liars, they may have pre-ordered her CD, but she was only signing the first 1000 who pre-ordered. I have been around for awhile and I have NEVER IN MY LIFE heard of someone signing 1000 CDs. Most people sign like 100 at most. So, before you falsely bash Mariah, let’s remember that she signed for 6 hours and signed all 1000 people’s. Mariah is amazing and loves her fans more than any singer I know! Oh yeah and no one booed her. I was there. 6000 people showed up, she’d still be signing if she were to sign everyone’s. I don’t know why people are hating on her so much lately. I hate how false rumors get started and make someone who signed for over 6 hours to over 1000 people look bad.

She’s Mariah Carey she’s paid her dues since 1991, if she quit early big deal she had already signed 700 autographs, her hand was probably hurtin damn, them fans will live get over it, I think trashing Cd’s is a little extreme it ain’t like she was curing world hunger
To the people defending Mariah,
the story is so true. I was personally there for 10 hours. There were not even 20 people ahead of me in line when she simply walked off stage.
I still love Mariah and I would never resort to trashing her album or trying to harm her, but there is a problem with making promises you can’t keep.
I understand that it was 2:00 in the morning-why not show up on time and get done sooner?
I agree that there are few artists that would do anything near 1000 signings- so why promise it? The first 1000 people who bought her album were GUARANTEED a meet and autograph- how ridiculous does that sound? No one’s saying she should have signed all 6000 people’s albums who showed up, but you shouldn’t make a promise you can’t keep.
And if you can’t keep a promise, don’t leave fans WAITING LONGER- at least have the decency to say “goodbye,” “goodnight,” “sorry” maybe?
