R&B songstress Ashanti is busy promoting her third album “The Declaration” due next month, but the singer may come under fire for her latest marketing idea called the “Gotchagram.”
The “Gotchagram,” connected to the singer’s latest single “The Way I Love You” is an e-card/video designed for fans that can be sent to a lying, cheating individual much like in the video or a person who has “broken your heart,” “been emotionally unavailable,” or is “suspected of sleeping around” via the singers official website ashantimusic.net.
But with the “Gotcha, Gotcha,” fans are able to select their weapon of choice, upload a photo and finally send the e-card linking to a video laced with the messenger and “victim’s” information.
While the marketing idea is meant to be a joke accompanied by a video parody featuring a rash of “The Way That I Love You,” some may not find the idea funny.
Is Ashanti going to far?
