Is The “N” Word Alright To Use?
Apparently yesterday there was a huge row between Elizabeth and Whoopi over the use of the “N” word.
I normally don’t RIDE for Elizabeth at all but real talk, she had great points and I think that she had the better logic. I mean I’m just saying it’s like a battered woman saying, “Oh! Don’t worry about him hitting me! I’m taking back my life and the abuse so now when he hits me, child, I’m reclaiming my glory!” Wouldn’t you look at her sideways??
Check out the video! Question for you though: Do YOU think it’s alright to use the “N” and why? Do you see Elizabeth’s point?

To each their own. Perhaps there will be a day when Elizabeth and Whoopi will feel comfortable calling each other the n-word.
July 18th, 2008 at 10:12 pmelizabeth is so damn annoying…what the hell does she know about black people and the way we use the word. i agree with the person above we dont use it as disrespect
July 19th, 2008 at 1:57 amI didn’t know that the word was used as empowerment or a term of endearment. That was a fookin revelation for my black a$$. LMAO!! I must say Elizabeth did have something of substance to say. Even though we would like to believe we are living in one world, we must admit to the different variations of said world. We will never experience life the same as stereotypes and the teaching of ignorance will remain prevalent in places where fellowship with other cultures is non-exist. We hope for better for our kids…so KUDOS ELIZABETH for not breaking your beliefs!!
July 19th, 2008 at 2:37 pmI also agree with TrappinDeez. But there are some blacks that forget about the pain back then and they use it anyways, because it was either used in their home so they don’t know better. My opinion is that it is alright to use the word. This is the present now so forget thinking of the past, but also my other opinion is that when I here a black say that world I think that it shows our stupidity: in the way we dress, how we act, and how the media is affecting us, but nobody can stop the people who say the word. So even though I get frustrated and mad when I here a white person say it I don’t care, because it’s stupid if the blacks are degrading themselves by saying the word, so what’s the point of the blacks saying the word 500 times in one conversation and when a white person say it they want to get angry.
