Boyz II Men, who made a stop by Borders in California over the weekend in celebration of Motown’s 50th Anniversary, side swiped rival R&B group New Edition according to sources in attendance.
After being asked how the group managed to maintain a clean image and avoid internal conflict like other groups, one member of the group responded:
“We’re committed to our music and not one of us is more important than the other. We ain’t like New Edition and it ain’t no Bobby Browns on this roster.”
According to Johnjohnsaidit, comments and laughs were heard throughout the room after the comment was made.
The real question though is…. what does B-Brown have to say about that ?
At the end of the day, Boyz II Men truthfully kept their fights or whatever may have been going on, behind the curtain. You never really heard of Boyz II Men fighting over solos, record deals, side promotions, or any of that.
Do you think Boyz II Men was out of line ?

No what they said was true why is it that there are two separate group’s now with Ricky, Ronnie, and Mike doing a new BBD project and it forced Bobby, Ralph, and Johnny to form a new group called Heads Of State. I’m a fan of all six don’t get me wrong and supportive of their projects together and separate but they should focus on a New Edition all with all six instead of a new BBD album and a album from Heads Of State.
Nah they aren’t out of line. They pretty much kept their personal business out the tabloids. I wish more celebs would do that, but now a days it called ‘publicity’….
Ummmm actually u did….wut u think happened with mike??
Michael retired from the group due to scolosis it wasn’t internal problems. The only problemw they had was before they came out with Cooleyhighharmony when Marc Nelson the fifth member left to go solo. He and Nate formed the group in high school as Unique Attraction in 1988 but Shawn and Marc Nelson had beef. Wanya also had problems with him so they wanted him out the group. Nate didn’t want Mike in the beginning because he snuck in the group Nate says but they got over their issues are became good friends. Their tour manager Khalil Roundtree was murdered in 1992 while they were in Chicago on MC Hammer’s Too Legit To Quit Tour. He appeared in New Edition’s Mr. Telephone Man video as the big telephone man. He was apart of New Edition’s security in the 80s so New Edition and Boyz II Men knew each other very well.
Not to mention, are we forgetting who’m signed Boyz II Men to their deal with Motown?? Mr. Bivins that is… Its common knowledge that Boyz II Men looked up to and were influenced by New Edition so its not like they were taking a jab. If I hated an artist I’m not gonna do them the honor of covering one of their biggest hits. They’re just being honest. How many times have New Edition broken up and then gotten back together?? That “Home Again” album with all 6 members was crazy and the momentum could’ve taken them well into the new millenium but what happened yet again?? Bobby Brown.
Boyz II Men are named after the New Edition track Boys To Men. They also got signed after sneaking backstage at a New Edition concert and sang for Mike B.I. They have a lot to be thankful for to New Edition but they’ve also paid their dues and out sold the New Edition catalogue a couple of times over so I think by now they are allowed to have an opinion on N.E. Also Bobby wasn’t part of the N.E that B II M came through with. They probably big Johnny Gill fans lol.
I THINK ALL THIS HE SAID SHE SAID IS CRAZY, WE HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING BOTH GROUPS O A LONG TIME AND BOTH ARE GOING THROUGH TH SAME THING, BUT N HAS MOR EXPERIENCE THEN THE OTHER, LOOK NEW EDITION FOR ONE, THE GUYS ARE ALL IN THERE 40′S AND EVERYONE IS GETTING TIRED, OF DOING DOO WOOP FROM 1980, THATS ALL, AM TIRED, SHIT, BOBBY IS WOTH MORE NOW THEN HE WAS BACK IN THE 90′S BUT HE CANT GET HIS ACT TOGETHER HE WANTSS TO BE ON TOP, RALPH IS TIRED OFF BEING THE LEADER, AND WANTS TO DO HIS OWN, AND MIKE B JUST WANT TO CONTINUE DANCING ALL OVR THEPLACE, AND POOR JOHNNY KEEPS GETTING BACKGROUND JOBS AND HIS VOICE IS SO BEAUTIFUL, BUT IT COMES DOWN TO THE AGE IS KICKING IN AND I HOPE WHEN THESE GUYS TURN 50, CANDY GIRL WILL NOT BE AN OPTION…………..
I wasnt right, but its okay, lol, Bobby was the problem over the years, but B2M didnt have to publicly state that, even if it was in a joking manner
