The ax has dropped and The Game has been cut over at the CW, according to sources close to the show.
Can’t say we’re surprised or happy at all. The only thing we can say is “at least they closed the show out with a nice finale”…something that was not done for “Girlfriends” (not over that one either !!!!!).
With ‘The Game’ officially canned, The CW has officially rid itself of every black sitcom, drama etc. (‘Everybody Hates Chris’ is cancelled also).

I am so disturbed right now because I just heard that The Game is officially cancelled. I should have known something was wrong when they kept switching the days from Monday to Wednesday and then to FRIDAY when no one is home to watch the damn show. What’s crazy is that they don’t even follow the CW line up here in MY AREA, SO WHEN THEY SAY FRIDAY, IT NEVER HAPPENS. THE ONLY WAY I GET TO SEE THE SHOW IS BY WATCHING IT ONLINE. THIS SUCKS, ANYTIME YOU HAVE POSITIVE AFRICAN-AMERICANS ON TV, SHOWS ARE CANCELLED. BET AND TVONE NEED TO STEP UP THEIR SHOWS AND SHOW WHITE AMERICA THAT WE DO WATCH AND SUPPORT POSITIVE PORTRAYALS OF US!! WE ARE NOT ALL DRUNK AND CRACK HEADS RUNNING THE STREETS WITH SIX CHILDREN BY FIVE DIFFERENT PEOPLE. PEOPLE, WE HAVE TO DO BETTER!!!
There are so many sitcoms out there but due to time constraints I could never get into them…I stumbled upon The Game in the first season on the season finale….I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE SHOW FROM THERE!!!! When Bet started playing I was like great now I can finally see the first season…I say all that to say that was the only show on tv that I had to stop what I was doing wherever I was at to watch it…..I am so upset because I feel like it just wasnt given a chance…And after reading all the sites I don’t know why I felt I was the only one who just loved the show, but everyone loves that show!!!!!How could they cancel it are they not reading the sites…..WHEN I AM THROUGH WITH SOMETHING I AM THROUGH….I WILL NEVER WATCH ANOTHER THING ON THE CW NETWORK NEVER….I AM SETTING MY REMOTE TO BLOCK THAT CHANNEL JUST IN CASE BY ACCIDENT IT GETS TURNED ON THERE I WON’T EVEN ALLOW A MILLISECOND OF MY RATINGS TO COUNT FOR THAT CHANNEL….THE END

As much as I love this show, with its never know what is going to happen plots, I knew this show would eventually be canceled when they moved the show to Friday nights. That is what the do to all shows right before they kick them off the air. The best thing we can do is try to ask BET to pick it up. Maybe schedule it after the new show with Keyshia Cole show with Frankie.

Damn, I had a funny feeling that was gonna happen.I really loved Everyboy Hates Chris and The Game. I can’t believe that they’re doing this again.Now we officially don’t have any more black sitcoms on one of 4 major networks. I surely miss the 70′s,80′s & 90′s when we had more black sitcoms on the air. But it seems like ever since the millenium rolled in, reality tv has taken over every channel on the planet and it makes me sick. At least they should give the viewers of our black sitcoms by giving us a series finale. You’re left with a cliffhanger expecting to tune in the fall to find out what happens but then they cancel the show.That’ s why I’m glad Tyler Perry did his thang on cable (TBS) and he is supposedly going into his 6 season of House of Payne and also has the 2nd season of Meet The Browns kickin off next week. And don’t count on BET to pick up any sitcoms because all they show is reruns and besides for the past few years they have hopped on the reality bandwagon.I heard Master P is coming out with a network launching next year – no telling how that’s gonna go.But We still have TV One for now.I’ll tell you one thing, whether you believe it or not,racism still exists in Hollywood,yeah they might put a famous black actor/actress on a tv show on a major network but I’ll be damned if they can get their own show. (Even though the rumour has it that LL Cool J will have a drama coming to CBS this fall,We’ll see how long that lasts.) I surely wish I had the money because I would start a network that only showed black sitcoms.From the old scool to the new.
i loved that show watched every since it aired n if i missed it i watched online, they was just on bet saying that it wasnt going to be cancelled but to blog about making it n hour show. yall need to put that show back on like everyone else said there are no black shows and that was one of the best black show today. the new usually would air n oct. so yall need to prepare for the next season n forget about cancellation n oh yeah make it n hour its worth it i love n everyone else i know loves it to.
The CW should really be ashamed. The Game is a great show. My personal favorite. Of course the white owned network would take away the only black sitcom left. I know for a fact 90210′s ratings weren’t close to The Games. They should have made the show into an hour long comedic, drama like Mara Brock Akil wanted to do. I sure hope BET or another network picks it up. What a damn shame. I will definetely boycott the CW. They will never have to worry about me watching anything on their network ever again!!!!!!
I am very disappointed with the CW and in my city the CW is channel 11..my tv will NEVER be tuned into that station EVER again. I am so fed up with all these networks and their idiotic shows about NOTHING but when a show like The Game or Girlfriends, One on One, Half&Half, All of Us come along they get no advertising, thrown in horrible time slots and ultimately get cancelled. I am praying and doing what I can in hopes a different network will pick up The Game. It is such an AWESOME show!!!
Let’s go through the lineup of cancelled BLACK shows…Half & Half, All of Us, Eve, Girlfriends, Everybody Hates Chris, The Game…am I missing any? Seems to me like CW uses these shows and timeslots to gain popularity and then insert shows like Gossip Girl in the timeslot that has garnered many fans, and then plays musical chairs with the black shows so that we can’t find them to watch them! Everyone I knew thought the new ones showed on Sundays still…well they were running the rerun from Friday on Sundays…guess that had too many viewers so they started showing previous seasons reruns on Sundays…why even pick up black shows to cancel them without closure/warning/reasoning???

well i cant say that im shocked all the black shows are always cancelled. but they can bring back that old az 90210 bull****. its not fair. i really hope that BET pick the show up cause the CW didnt derseve to have that show. i hope that they lose all kinds for viewers not just black people . that was a good show that could have went for many more season.
There use to be a time when what the public enjoyed was more important than bringing back old shows that had their moment. We finally get the couple married and the baby born but we don’t see if the two couples gets back together or not….. Ii didn’t even realize Girlfriends had been canceled till I kept watching on Monday nites and it never came back. I have learned the difference between “Season Finale” and “Series Finale” both these programs said “Season Finale” which means they were supposed to come back. Hopefully somebody from the CW will read this page and the others like it and change their mind.
This is really terrible. I will not watch America’s Top Model which I liked because no effort was made to hear the fans of the Game. Hopefully the demographic that CW targets brings the success the executives feel The Game could not bring the network.
I’m LIVID that they cancelled THE GAME. They set them up to fail. It was a plot, and it worked. First they game them the worst possible time slot, so naturally their ratings would go down. THEN they decided to change the format of their programming knowing good and damn well that THE GAME had never done a show without a laugh track and with a one hour format. THE GAME tried for the finale and it turned out okay. But that was the FIRST TIME they had ever done that, of course it wasn’t perfect. And the CW knew it wouldn’t be, and used that as an excuse to cancel. It’s bull—-, complete and utter bull—-. It’s unfair. If I were a millionaire, I’d put up my own money to fund the show. I’m praying some other network will have the good sense to take the show and develop it. There is so much that can be done with Mara’s great script and that wonderful cast of actors. I LOVE THE GAME, AND IT DID NOT DESERVE TO BE CANCELLED. AGAIN, THE CW SET THE GAME UP TO FAIL. SHAME ON YOU CW EXECS…FOR SHAME! THE GAME deserves a chance to complete the story line. As a fan, I have so many unanswered questions. The CW did this same crap with GIRLFRIENDS, and here we go again…IT’S NOT RIGHT.
It’s all about ratings and money. Look at the CW’s shows. All of the shows are designed for white women between the ages of 14 to 49.
Black audiences are not desired by advertisers. They want young, white audiences that are perceived as wealthier.
The irony is that the ratings for most of the CW shows stink. Gossip Girl gets terrible ratings. But the network does promotional work with companies for product placement that will appeal to teens.
It’s sad but television is less diverse today than it was 15 or 20 years ago when Cosby was on NBC and the WB had programs that targeted black audiences–Living Single.
It’s horrible that “The Game” is now canceled, that was the only show I watched on television. I believe the decrease in rates on the show was the CW’s fault. When the show switched to Friday nights, there wasn’t enough advertising to inform the viewers.
Also, previews of the show were never displayed on the CW channel. I’d always see the previews for the next episode of “ANTM” but hardly ever for the game. I truly hope another channel picks up “The Game” because it is a great show with wonderful actors (instead of the reality tv junk).

NO! NO! NO! Why girlfriends, and now The game? Cw needs to go bakc to being the WB with the cute dancing frog on it and shows that also promote black audiences. I would say I was done with CW but I love Smallville and Supernatural so much, but that ends there. Bring The WB back, somebody please. Why can’t BET pick The game up, they play old episodes of One on One, girlfriends, and The Parkers. I agree with what Kimberly and mark Said.
I LOVE THE GAME!! The CW says they are targeting 18-34 year old women but what about black women? Are we not included?? Who do you think is watching The Game?? I pray that some network realizes the fan base and picks it up!!!

I am so hurt about the show GOT CANCELLED. They only do things like this to us meaning BLACKS. How many dumb, blonde & corny shows that doesn’t effect us at all do they have? Why does this have to a black or white issue? Yes they canceled all the good black comedies, but they canceled all the good white comedies too. I think the point should be they canceled good comedies, period.

I’m so pissed that this sitcom was cancelled. I just actually find out it was not coming back and almost hit the roof.Come on CW you cancelled Girlfriend and left us wondering no ending to the show just cancelled. I was looking foward to this sitcom coming back.Very pissed viewer

I hope bet can show the 4th season of the game it cant end like this, the game is my fav. show, and it’s the best show ever. i have the 1st and 2nd season im getting the 3rd season when it comes out and i hope i can get the 4th season if it comes out.
