While serving time (community service time) in connection to his fan tossing case in Dutchess County, New York, Akon talked about up and coming star Dolla. According to Akon, Dolla was just a kid with a great future ahead:
“It was a very senseless crime. He was a great kid, he didn’t deserve it. He was only 19, supporting his whole family through his music and the reason he got shot was probably the most miscellaneous thing ever.”
Akon, speaking to local teens, went on to thank the City of Poughkeepsie for their consideration and “forgiving” him for throwing a fan offstage at Dutchess County Stadium:
“”I appreciate the fact that the mayor even allowed me to come here to speak to you today. Thanks to the city of Poughkeepsie for forgiving me for my faults.”
“It’s been a great wake-up call for me. The beautiful part of it is that I’m in the position to be able to pass that knowledge to you so you don’t go through those same situations.”
i was wondering if someone can show this to akon. i have a friend who is very talented. he is a wonderful rapper. in my opinion he’s just as good as Dolla maybe even better. but that is not for me to decide. He has already made a few cd’s but they are not professional due to the lack of equipment. He has the perfect rythm and voice to do this. if you can just write me back and think about listening to his music that would be great. Thank You So much.
