He might have canned the expected “12 Play: 4th Quarter” album last year but, R. Kelly is by no means hanging up the mic. In fact, Kelly is going back to the streets with a mixtape !
Kells broke the news via MTV this week, telling the network “I wanted to get closer to the streets. It’s the first time an R&B artist has done a mixtape on this level. It’s a way to start over and give my fans something new and fresh again. I think it’s great for music!”
Originally called “The Remix Killa,” Kelly’s mixtape is now titled “The Demo Tape” and it features DJ Drama, DJ Skee and Plies on “Playaz In Da Club”.
Kelly even remixes The Dream’s “Kelly’s 12 Play” (from Love Vs. Money)…
With the mixtape out, Kelly’s new album is due to follow later and according to the Pied Piper it is still titled “Untitled”.
