Was Nicole S. forced to return to the Pussycat Dolls after a lukewarm reception to her debut album and singles ?
According to Keri Hilson, the controversial Pussycat Doll diva who received backlash for her “featured status” in the group, was the intended recipient of a song on “In A Perfect World”. After Nicole pulled back to record “Doll Domination,” Hilson says she decided to keep the record but believes Nicole may have been forced to abandon her 2005 effort:
“I wrote Alienated, one of the songs on my album, for Nicole’s solo project. It was a good album but she decided to go back to the Dolls instead of releasing it, well she was kinda forced to I think,” Hilson confirms.
“It was a good situation for me as I fell in love with that song, so I got to keep it.”
For Pussycat Dolls fans, you will likely recall Nicole stating that she chose to go back to the group on her own and “may” focus on a solo effort later on.
Based upon an interview with group member Melody Thornton, that solo effort maybe coming soon because they are far from being “friendly” when the curtain goes down (read that interview here).
What do you think of Nicole and PCD … do you think she chose to go back and record with the group ?
Since the other women in PCD do not sing they should stop complaining about Nicole’s individual popularity and just appreciate that they’re getting to ride on this gravy train which is powered by Nicole’s voice. In other words, they should be grateful that they even have a “music” career because if it weren’t for Nicole and some talented producers the lot of them would be back doing burlesque in a club somewhere.
Maybe she was forced, but who cares? The Pussycat dolls will record another album, it may be successful, but after another tour they will break up for sure! No one of the dolls wanna be in this group any longer. And when I think of Robin Antin, I can totally understand why…
