A public memorial for retired NFL quarterback Steve McNair has been scheduled to take place from 3 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. ET Thursday at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Whites Creek, Tenn., according to the Tennessean.
McNair, 36, was found with four gunshot wounds Saturday, July 4th, in what authorities believe was a murder suicide.
Born in 1973, McNair began his NFL career with the Houston Oilers in 1995. After spending a reported four years with the Oilers (Houston and Tennessee), McNair began what would become his most successful and award winning portion of his career as a Tennessee Titan. McNair earned a co-MVP title (shared with Peyton Manning) in 2003 due to his 100.4 passer rating. He was later named Sports Illustrated Player of the Year, Sports Illustrated All-Pro, second team Associated Press All-Pro, and Pro Bowl starter.
