Breaking: Chris Brown Publicly Apologizes For Hitting Rihanna

R&B star Chris Brown has finally faced the camera and apologized to the public for the turmoil between him and Rihanna. Will you except his apology? We do!

“Since February my attorney has advised me not to speak out, even though since the incident I wanted to publicily express my deepest regret and accept full responsibility…I felt it was time you heard directly from me that I am sorry. I have tried to live my life which can make those around me proud of me and until recently I think I was doing a pretty good job. I wish I had the chance to live those few moments again, but unfortunately I can’t. I cannot go into what happened and most importantly I’m not going to sit here and make any excuses. I take great pride in me being to excercise self-control and what I did was inexcuseable. I am very sad and very ashamed of what I’ve done…I have told Rihanna countless times and I’m telling you today that I am truly, truly sorry and that I wasn’t able to handle the situation both differently and better….I have let a lot of people down…and noone is more disappointed in me than I am. As many of you know, I grew up in a home where there was domestic violence and I saw first hand what uncontrolled rage can do. I have sought and am continuing to seek help to ensure what occured in February cannot ever happen again. And as I sit here today I can tell you that I will do everything in my power to make sure that it never happens again and I promise that. What I did was unacceptable, 100%. I can only ask and pray that you forgive me please. I hope that others learn from my mistake. I intend to live my life, so that I’m truly worthy of term role model. Thank you.”

I have accepted his apology. I respect him for being a man about the situation and I hope he can overcome all the obstacles people are trying to through his way. I have much faith in Chris that he has learned from his mistakes and that he will be a better person, if he was to ever be thrown into a similiar situation again. Now I hope he could move on. I will continue praying for him.

Now that i watched it again it does sound like it was from the heart.

The apology is sincere to a point. It seems he sincerely wants to salvage his career – we’re talking about a damaged professional reputation and lost millions. If in the first instance a priveledged, strong man can care so little, to do this to this girls face – we are not talking about the boy next door. if he hadnt been busted, chances are he would be kicking seven types of crap out of her right now.

I accept 100% Chris Brown’s apology, certainly few men apology and assume the fact that they’ve done a big mistake, Chris still my idol..Not as a women beater (and he’s done that only once and hope it will be the last ) but because he realised how it’s horrible and how he can loose everything if the private life is mixed up with the professionnal life !!!

I believe that Chris was being very sincere and that everyone can now accept his official apology like i have. I have always stuck by him since the beginning but i now know that he is a true man by doing this. I will always believe in him because he is a great singer, dancer and all round entertainer and i wouldn’t want what he did to jeopardize is career. (afterall he did live in a home of domestic violence so that could have triggered it all off.)
Love you always Chris B, i hope everyone can put their comments to rest x
    Your Fan Forever =]

Even though it seem like he was reading on cue cards it doesn’t mean it didn’t come from the heart. I do forgive him and respect him for being a man and taking responsibility for his actions. What people don’t understand is that people make mistakes (he is only 20 you guys come on!!!), and you can’t change that. I bet if he was a regular person doing these everyone won’t be all over him, just give him a break.PLEASE!!!!! He is over these and you should do the same.

  8. Kam says:

I think any time anyone is reading from a teleprompter it sounds “odd” or insincere, but when you read it, it sounds like he wrote it himself and it was heartfelt.

Either way, I forgave him a long time ago, but it’s nice to hear the official apology.

  9. PdotSdot says:

Look!! I am tired of people saying, “Oh, he just wants to salvage his career.”…..Yea…I’m sure anyone would want to save their career if it was in jeopardy!! Right now there are people with crappy jobs that they don’t even like, but they still don’t want to lose the job! It makes no sense to say such a thing. I believe that he rehearsed this apology a few times, but only to get it right. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t mean what he is saying just because he didn’t want to stumble over his words. Of course the young man is sincerely sorry, especially now that he’s had time to really look at what his actions have done to him, rihanna, and both of their families. Now give him a stage and a mic and let him do his thing.

You will never be truly worthy of the term role model. That is now lost. As people we do have to forgive. I believe your apology will be accepted by all whether or not there are some that do not feel your apology was sincere. Life goes on, but I do not believe there is still a high fan base.

  11. BABY says:

I THINK HE WOULD OF SAID SOMETHING FROM THE BEGINNING BUT WITH LAWS AND HIS PR TEAM THINGS HAVE TO BE DONE DIFFERENTLY
I ALSO THINK THAT HE DID REALIZE THAT HE GOT OUT OF HAND AND IF THEY BOTH HAVE PROBLEMS WITH CONTROLLING THEIR EMOTIONS AND ANGER THEN THIS MIGHT OF JUST BEEN THE BEST WAY TO KEEP THINGS MOVING
I ALSO THINK THAT HE APOLOGIZED B/C HE REALIZE HOW THIS HAS AFFECTED HIS FANS, HIS PERSONAL LIFE AND OF COURSE THE ROLE MODEL THAT HE ONCE USED TO BE
HOPEFULLY THIS IS A LESSON LEARNED AND LIFE DEFINITLEY GOES ON
SO HE JUST NEED TO SET HIS PRIORITIES STRAIGHT
AND TRY TO FOCUS MORE ON GOD INSTEAD OF LIVING UP TO THAT GLAMOUROUS LIFE ALL THE TIME

  13. keta and drea says:

we still love you over here.
    dreezy & keta!

  14. kam1 says:

I accept his apology, but he shouldnt be apologising to me or us, we only buy the records. wait a minute, thats probably why he’s doing it. wake up people!! PS – 20 is a grown ass man; younger men are raising families.

  15. Jay says:

It seems to me that a lot of people are excusing what he did because he apologized. Do you know that men everyday are saying the same thing over and over again, I’m sorry. Sorry is just not good enough, I do believe that he is sorry and I do believe that he is trying to salvage his career. The bottom line is no man, I don’t care what the reason, should ever put their hands on a woman!!! And he beat the %&*$ out of her. He should have just kept his hands to himself.

  16. Mahiya says:

who in here has ever heard of a thief come clean about his guilt? anybody? i don’t think so. once he does get caught, his priority is to cover it up! that’s how abusive men work too. that’s exactly what they specialize doing. chris brown right now HAS TO cover up the whole hitting-situation out of the crowd. he won’t do anything different. he will hire a secretary who will write a high-class paragraph about how sorry he is in hitting a woman. nope! that’s not how it works. this is just not acceptable. he did develop these characteristics from his step dad; and there’s just no turning around. once an abuser, is always an abuser- period.

  17. Shaquana2789 says:

In my opinion I believe that this entire ordeal has been taking to an extreme. I think that the media has taken things a bit too far. Domestic violence isn’t acceptable PERIOD. But I believe because they’re celebrities circumstances change. Everyday women are battered by their significant others, the news doesn’t broadcast these events because of their financial status or the color of their skin. From personal experiences I’ve seen domestic violence up close and it is not pretty. I believe that the Rihanna and Chris Brown issue was a publicity stunt gone wrong. Had this been two regular black kids from the “ghetto” the law enforcement wouldn’t have taken the issue so seriously. Although my opinion isn’t law, I think that Chris has a second chance to right his wrongs. I don’t think the apology was sincere I believe it was written and he read it so the media and press could drop the subject. Chris Brown has endured enough drama from this case. I think it’s time for Chris AND the media to move on. The damage is done. All that is left to do is pick up the pieces and continue. Chris hasn’t lost a fan here. I just hope his up coming album reflects him in a different light as a more mature artist.
