It appears that Bow Wow has a few ‘naysayers’ when it comes to his decision to sign with Cash Money and work on new music… after all, did he not say he was going to retire earlier this year ?
In video below, Bow Wow sheds light on his life and struggles after writing a blog on Global Grind… Out of all the things he had to say there, his most important statement dealt with the opportunity to earn the respect of music fans back: “To the naysayers, I hope that you give me the opportunity to earn your respect. I know that over the years I’ve put many of my faults on display which I make no excuses for. I’m young and I’ve made mistakes and I will make more. No different than any other 22 year old, I still have some growing up to do. When I said earlier this year that I may be retiring from hip-hop, I was serious. I’m not stupid, I read what you read and see what you see. I really thought it may be time to move in a different direction and change focus. I wasn’t the first entertainer to go public with these feelings and I certainly won’t be the last (Brett Favre….just playin, welcome back Brett),” says Bow Wow.
Bow Wow “Regret”:
He shouldn’t have to defend or explain himself, considering his last label didn’t promote his last CD which was pretty good compared to all of his industry rivals! Sony/Columbia was notorious for NOT promoting African-American males on their roster! The late MJ, Ginuwine, Jermaine Dupri, Jagged Edge, Omarion and Bow Wow himself, all complained publically about their dislike with the label! They now have apparently changed because of Maxwell’s latest success! Hopefully, by signing Cashmoney he and Omarion, will suceed because they both couldn’t done alot worse by staying with Columbia!
