In the near future the world’s foremost recognized doll, Barbie, will make her bigscreen debut in theaters.

Sources at Universal say the studio has acquired rights from Mattel to produce a film centered around Barbie. While details are sketchy at this point, the film will be produced by Laurence Mark (”Jerry Maguire”).
