Say What: Michael Vick Undeserving of BET Show ?

Michael Vick

“People who abuse animals don’t deserve to be rewarded,” says Dan Shannon of PETA.

It appears PETA and others are not at all enthused with news that Michael Vick has landed a reality television show with BET.

According to BET, the show, which will follow Vick post prison stint as he starts fresh, will premiere in 2010 (titled “The Michael Vick Project”).

Releasing a statement Wednesday,  Vick said “I just want people to really get to know me as an individual. What I want to do is change the perception of me. I am a human being. I’ve made some mistakes in the past, and I wish it had never happened. But it’s not about how you fall, but about how you pick yourself up.”

While Vick insists he’s made some mistakes and wishes they never happened, PETA maintains its stance, stating “They (people like Vick) shouldn’t be given multimillion-dollar contracts…or given the privilege of being a role model.”

What do you think… should the plug be pulled on Michael Vick’s reality show or would you watch it ?

Michael Vick says he made a “mistake.” A MISTAKE????!!! Attaching wetting a dog and electrocuting it is a MISTAKE???!!! Hanging a dog is a MISTAKE???!! Drowning a dog is a MISTAKE???!!! Michael Vick is a sociopath. You cannot rehabilitate these types of individuals. I encourage EVERYONE to write to BET and tell them that you’ll be boycotting the station. This is a disgrace.

Everyone deserves a second chance. He paid for his mistakes, now leave the man alone. I am sure that he regrets what he did. The man suffered enough and just want to move on with his life.At the end God is the only judge.

this is a man who did his time
who lost everything include fans respect, money, homes, endorsement deals but more important his self-respect
and is trying to get his life back on track
    what else do they want
    for vick to stop living
people need to let things go and move on from it
he done apologized and is now encouraging students to make wiser choices
peta needs to go after the real animal abusers
this one appears to have been changed
let the man prove himself to god first and to himself and his loved ones

I can’t help but wonder, if Michael Vick had been caught having sex with a dog, would the NFL have had him back?

  6. lala says:

First of all Vick didnt do any of those things so get that straight. He wasnt the one who hung them who electrecuted them or did any of the other stuff. His lil side kicks did all that he simply gave them money to do w.e aight get over it already why does he have to suffer for this for the rest of his life he went to prison he paid his dues let it go and move on.

  8. Champ says:

Everyone deserves a second chance!!!! ONLY GOD can judge… PETA… I’m sure half of you have made mistakes….. GET OVER IT!!! LIFE GOES ON!!! Good luck Vick I hope you all the best in the future. Only GOD can judge you. You paid you debt to soceity for your wrong doing…

  9. Craig says:

PETA and everyone else who has a problem with Michael Vick will be mad forever. They value the life of an animal more so than a human. Even if animal rights is their cause, I don’t see them stepping out when someone is accused of domestic abuse, manslaughter, murder, etc. Unfortunately for Sue, he/she won’t know what it’s like to have some taken away from them until it happens.

  10. Susan Cotton says:

Michael Vick admitted to personally executing at least 8 dogs by various savage methods, including hanging , beating and electrocution. Many details are known and are a matter of record. He denied it at first, but later admitted it after presenting conflicting testimony to several different enforcement branches and subsequently failing a lie detector test. Full disclosure was a stipulation of the plea agreement.
