In a preview clip shown on today’s Good Morning America Rihanna broke silence not just on her life since February, but the shocking amount of times she went back to Chris Brown. Talking with Diane Sawyer of ABC, Rihanna said she went back “eight or nine times” after he first laid hands on her.
“I’m a human being and people put me on a very unrealistic pedestal,” Rihanna tells Sawyer. “I’m not perfect. It’s pretty natural for that to be the first reaction. It’s completely normal to go back and start lying to yourself. The minute the physical wounds go away, you want this thing to go away. This is a memory you don’t want to have again.”
Rihanna’s full interview with Sawyer airs Friday, November 6 on ABC at 10pm.
