Triumphantly standing (pictured), Whitney Houston returned to the same stage (figuratively) where she picked up award after award for hits like “Greatest Love of All” and “I Will Always Love You” Sunday night. Performing “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength,” Houston received a warm reception while also picking up the coveted ‘International Artist” Award.
Before Whitney, however, Ms. Jackson — Janet Jackson, took the stage to open the show. Reminding us of hits like “If,” “Together Again,” and the new single “Make Me,” Jackson rocked the stage as only she could.

I love Whitney. She shut it down and showed that real singers don’t need gimmicks, don’t need to strip or shock. She rocked it and testified with just a mic, some lighting and her instrument. True diva schooling on how to command an audience.
I felt her last night…very moving. Keep ya head up Whitney. I truly believe that God has his hands on you.

Janet and Whitney had the best performances. Both are very different artists, however both ruled in their genre of music. They showed you can keep it simple, and still entertain. I was so lost watching Lady Coo Coo, Rhianna, J.Lo, and Amy Lambert. There perfomances had too much going on.
