Gillette (P&G) is hitting Tiger Woods where it hurts — his checkbook.
Following Accenture, who removed Woods from its website after consistent negative attention stemming from infidelity, Proctor & Gamble says it will begin phasing ads featuring the pro-golfer out of promotions for Gillette.
“As Tiger takes a break from the public eye, we will support his desire for privacy by limiting his role in our marketing program,” Gillette said in a statement Saturday.
Ouch… Tiger Woods recently confirmed that he is taking an indefinite break from golf.
Gillette goes by the slogan “The Best a Man Can Get”, but they have distanced themselves from Tiger Woods as he takes his break from golf. Sports blogs listed on Dozensports.com said it was to ‘support his desire for privacy’, but in reality it’s probably to protect their brand. When it comes to the media, Tiger is now getting ‘the worst a man can get’.

Damn right, Tiger is getting the ‘worst a man can get’, because he deserves it. I’m glad Gillette will not be using him in their ads.
